The Russian Defense Ministry revealed plans by extremists and Nazis in Ukraine to launch a new provocation by bombing Russian territory and detonating containers containing chemicals in the city of Sumy in order to accuse Russian forces of using chemical weapons.
"According to information obtained from captured Ukrainian soldiers, fighters of the Ukrainian extremist battalions are preparing another provocation with the use of toxic substances in the city of Sumy," the head of the Russian Defense Administration Center, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mezintsev, said in a statement this evening.
"The neo-Nazis plan to bomb a border area in Russia from a residential area in the city of Sumy, provoke Russian units to respond, and then detonate containers containing dangerous chemicals," Mizintsev added.
Mizintsev warned that the Kyiv authorities would resort to this malicious measure to accuse the Russian armed forces of using chemical weapons, noting the presence of journalists from foreign news agencies in Sumy to take photos and videos.
"We warn the civilized West, the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons that the Kyiv regime is planning to spread false news on a large scale about alleged Russian atrocities in the near future through Ukrainian and Western media as well as through various Internet sites and media platforms," Mizintsev said.
Mizintsev had previously warned on the fifth of this month that the forces of the regime authorities in Kyiv were distributing fabricated videos through Western media about alleged atrocities committed by the Russian army.
