A second patient with monkey pox in Israel.
The Ministry of Health updates today (Saturday) that a 30-year-old man arrived at Sheba Hospital with symptoms of monkey pox after returning from a trip to Central Europe.
Upon his arrival, he was examined and released for solitary confinement at his home.
Laboratory results were obtained today which indicate that it is positive for the virus.
The suspicion was later also verified on examination at the Biological Institute.
The diagnosis comes about a week after the first patient was discovered in Israel with the new virus that is causing concern in the world.
The two verified for the disease were found to be positive after returning from abroad.
Monkey pox disease is a viral disease that can be transmitted from rodents and monkeys as well as from close contact between humans.
