Reckless or daring?

During the night of Thursday to Friday, one or more individuals entered the home of international rugby player Sekou Macalou, in Châtillon (Hauts-de-Seine).

A more than reckless burglary since, according to our information, the imposing third line of the XV of France and the Stade Français, the real spearhead of the Parisian forward package, was on site at the time of the events.

Did the perpetrator(s) of this climbing theft know it?

One thing is certain: they did not come face to face with the solid - 1.98 m for 108 kg - 27-year-old rugby player, after entering the comfortable 160 m2 pavilion, without breaking in, through a glass door from the floor.

According to our information, the latter was sleeping soundly when a small part of his home was searched.

It was only several hours later that he noticed the disorder and the disappearance of personal effects, in particular valuable jewellery.

Well-informed crooks

“On arrival, you wonder who was lucky, blows someone close to the case.

Whoever did this can consider themselves lucky not to have crossed paths with their victim.

Either they didn't know he was there, or they're not afraid of anything.

“Also according to our information, the criminals, obviously well informed, focused on the dressing room of the pavilion, upstairs, where were stored two safes which housed two luxury watches from Rolex and Breitling and a valuable jewel. .

They would also have taken a third Audemars Piguet watch.

The damage is currently estimated between 30,000 euros and 40,000 euros.

The investigation was entrusted to police officers from the Hauts-de-Seine local security territorial directorate (DTSP 92).

In the department, many top athletes have already suffered similar mishaps in the past.

But these seemed until then reserved for football stars, and in particular for PSG players.

A little over a year ago, on March 14, 2021, when Angel Di Maria was playing against FC Nantes at the Parc des Princes, jewelry and watches, for damages of less than 500,000 euros, were stolen from his mansion, in the presence of his family.

Still in Neuilly, Mauro Icardi, the Brazilian Dani Alves or the Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico were also victims of burglaries.
