At the citizens' meeting in Wackersberg on Monday evening (we reported), the citizens had the opportunity to address their inquiries directly to the head of the municipality.

Wackersberg – Konrad Eberl asked whether the municipality could imagine building a wood chip heating system.

The existing one in Oberfischbach is to be expanded, said Jan Göhzold.

However, it is not as cheap as one always imagines and it is difficult to work cost-effectively.

"We need enough hookups."

Wood chip heating: check what is possible

One should simply check what is possible, suggested Eberl.

"We have so much wood here with us." Former Mayor Alois Bauer said that the topic had already come a long way.

"We wanted to open up the whole of Burgstein." But then it wouldn't have paid off.

"But maybe that's something different now, with the rising energy costs." One will talk about it in the municipal council, said Göhzold.

The thought is good.

Racers at the elementary school: the police should keep an eye on it

A second question that the town hall had already reached before the town hall meeting was whether flash cameras could be used regularly at the elementary school.

"It's probably mainly locals who don't stick to the speed limit there," said Göhzold, who appealed to all citizens: "Please drive carefully there, especially if the school bus is there." But the police will also be contacted contact with the request to keep an eye on the spot.

There is a lot to do with fire brigade equipment houses

In the annual report, Göhzold spoke of the “problem children” in the community, the fire brigade equipment houses.

"There's a lot to do." For example, an exhaust gas extraction system or a hose testing system.

Martin March spoke about the latter.

“Is it possible to coordinate this across the district?” District Administrator Josef Niedermaier suggested that communities could join forces.

There are already some who have such systems, but the number is not enough, explained Florian Krinner from the Oberfischbach fire brigade.

“We have 300 hoses that we have to check after each use.

If a hose tears and it hasn't been checked beforehand, we have a huge problem.” The municipality now wants to discuss possible cooperation with Bad Heilbrunn.

Land in Burgern raises questions

Finally, Josef Hartmann wanted to know what happened to a large property that had been for sale in Burgern for a long time.

“The community should buy that for a local project.

Because we don't need a second Wackersbergerhöhe," he said, referring to the new hotel that is currently being built there.

This property was not of interest to the community, said Jan Göhzold.

"It's outside." Someone else offered more money there.

However, he does not know the exact status, as no construction plans have yet been submitted to the municipal council.

Many took the opportunity to say thank you

Afterwards there were numerous words of thanks: Alois Bauer, who had not been able to say goodbye as the outgoing mayor, now made up for it.

“The congregation is doing well and it is going well.” Pastor Leo Sobik thanked once again for the support with the church renovation: “People from other communities now want to hold their weddings and baptisms here because the church has become so beautiful “.

He was also very happy when he was made an honorary citizen, although it was "a shock" at first.

Finally, SV board member Peter Willibald thanked him for the future-oriented investment in the new gym.

"Thank you for the beauty that we were allowed to build."
