The giant soap bubbles floated gently over the heads of the flaneurs to the sounds of the musicians: the Schwabing street festival Corso Leopold let Munich breathe again at the weekend.
Nevertheless, thousands of visitors strolled between the Münchner Freiheit and the Siegestor at the popular street festival with around 170 artists.
Five music stages ensured a good atmosphere around the clock on both days.
The Corso Leopold focuses particularly on art and culture, so you could get inspiration from the new art forum "Utopica Pacis".
The children were allowed to let off steam on bouncy castles, for the adults there were bars, information stands and free dance floors.
Munich: The good mood was written all over the faces of guests and artists:
A particularly long queue formed in front of the stand at Munich Airport: the people of Munich tried out being pilots of paper airplanes – with luck there might even be a prize.
Nobody had to stay hungry either: stands with delicacies lined up close together.
The good mood was written all over the faces of the guests, but also of the artists: the culture festival and the joie de vivre associated with it had to be avoided for too long.
Hopefully we won't have to wait much longer for the next Corso Leopold: as early as September 10th and 11th, the Schwabing festival mile will attract visitors again - and Munich can stroll and dance again.

Corso Leopold in Munich: A perfect place in the sun
"We've been strolling along the Corso since half past four - it's a great atmosphere here!
We've already walked the whole mile once and now we've made ourselves comfortable with an Aperol Spritz: Here we're still getting the last rays of sunshine and can watch the crowds of visitors.
We used to come here often as children and we still enjoy it today.” Charlotte (23, left) and Clara (23), both from Munich (survey: Pia Mohr/photos: Oli Bodmer)

At the Corso Leopold in Munich: A heart for children
Our association takes care of the education of disadvantaged children in Belo sur Tsiribihina (Madagascar).
We provide school scholarships for about 30 children, we also maintain an education center and support our partner elementary school in Bemarivokely.
We are pleasantly surprised at how crowded the Corso Leopold is.
Hopefully we can reach many more people.

Corso Leopold is finally back after a two-year Corona break: everyone is having fun again
It's so beautiful here!
You can tell that not only we musicians, but also the audience are in the mood for the street festival again.
I spontaneously stepped in today and am now on the Lederhos'n stage with Christoph Weiherer.
We used to have a double program together called Wechselhaare.
I've been going to the Corso for as long as it's existed - it's simply a Munich tradition.

Munich: dance on the street
During Corona I missed free dancing a lot, so the joy is all the greater now.
I started dancing 15 years ago and this passion has accompanied me ever since.
I go to a lot of festivals and you always meet familiar faces.
I've been to the Corso Leopold several times - this year I appreciate being able to pursue my hobby all the more.
