The high school graduates found out their grades on Friday.

Next week there is another chance for improvement.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – The great trembling has come to an end for most.

Since Friday, the high school graduates in the district know how they did in the exams.

However, not all grades have been finalized yet.

34 young women started at Hohenburg for their Abitur

"All those who want to improve or even have to improve in order to pass can register for the re-exams from Monday," explains Christoph Beck, headmaster of the Hohenburg girls' high school St. Ursula.

This Abitur year is a very special one for him, because this year Beck is not the chairperson of examinations.

"Since my daughter is one of the high school graduates, I have nothing to do with the exams," he explains.

Beck can count himself among the lucky parents.

"My daughter passed," he reveals.

This makes her one of 34 young women who started their Abitur at Hohenburg Castle.

Dream grade 1.0: A total of three graduates can make it to Hohenburg

“Carolina Fuchs got a 1.0 Abitur right away.

Two others could also come to this result through the re-examinations,” the headmaster announces proudly.

Since the results of the oral re-examinations taking place next week can still change, the average grade has not yet been determined.

"But it looks pretty normal," says Beck.

Relief from corona loosening

The picture is similar at the Gabriel-von-Seidl-Gymnasium in Bad Tölz.

Headmaster Alexander Göbel reports that 100 students were registered for the Abi.

Eleven of them didn't make it right away.

Most of them could still turn things around with the review.

"So far, there have always been between eight and 25 students who have not passed the first attempt." This year there was a sense of relief that the students were able to take their Abitur without stricter corona measures such as masks.

A good cut is already emerging.

"Many have a one before the decimal point," says Göbel.

After three years in the German school system, a student from China achieves a “terrific” average

At the Max-Rill-Gymnasium in Reichersbeur, 18 students took the Abitur exams.

Two of them still have to take the re-examination in mathematics.

"But the necessary number of points to be achieved there is so low that it can be done with good preparation," says headmistress Carmen Mendez.

The grade point average is currently 2.5.

Four students whose mother tongue was not German also took part in the exams.

“The best of them, Xinghao Xi from China, achieved an average of 2.2 after only three years in the German school system.

Great,” praises the head of the boarding school.

According to Mendez, the current top grade at the Max-Rill-Gymnasium this year is 1.9.
