Holzkirchen

– It wasn't just screws that were loose here: On Friday morning (May 27) a 54-year-old man was on the move on the Salzburg autobahn near Holzkirchen with an adventurously unsafe furniture transport.

He wanted to go to Poland, but was intercepted by a patrol from the Autobahn Police Station (APS) in Holzkirchen.

The officials drew up a list of deficiencies - and it quickly became longer and longer.

An APS patrol discovered the team on Friday at around 8.35 a.m., it was heading towards Munich.

According to the police, the trailer swayed heavily and the loaded furniture was only sparsely secured.

Further deficiencies came to light during the subsequent inspection;

according to this, the drawbar of the trailer was knocked out, so that two of the four screws were loose;

the rear left brakes, the overrun brake and parking brake no longer responded.

The straps, with which the furniture was actually supposed to be secured, were pulled over the ship's side and thus lacked the necessary tension on the pieces of furniture.

The towing vehicle of the team, a Fiat Ducato van, was not really roadworthy either.

According to the police, the handbrake did not work;

The right windshield wiper was also missing, and the rubber on the left wiper was hanging off.

The driver stated that a special agent was applied to the windshield that made the rain roll off;

he thinks this is okay.

Officials disagreed and stopped the transport on the spot.

According to the highway police, the driver must expect a fine of more than 200 euros and repair the defects in the van and trailer before the team can go back on the road.
