The investigation of the incident shows that it was a frontal accident between two vehicles, in which the passengers returned from a family vacation in Eilat.
Preliminary findings of the investigation indicate that a vehicle traveling south deviated from its lane, for a reason that is still being investigated, and hit a vehicle traveling north.
The investigation is being continued by road accident investigators from the Negev region.
MDA paramedics described the scene of the accident as "horrific". "He was conscious and suffering from injuries, and after initial treatment he was taken to a helicopter by helicopter when his condition was moderate to severe."
