Following this, the police arrested a number of suspects, temporarily stopped the entrance to the mountain and announced that the mountain would reopen at 13:30 to 14:45.
Police added that if members of the riot group that took part in the clashes arrive again in the afternoon, they do not intend to allow them to enter.
The police appeal to the public who ascend the mountain to obey the instructions and not to violate the rules that are customary on the mountain.

Another disturbing incident that took place today in the Old City, occurred when MKs marching in the area were attacked by locals.
In separate incidents, residents of the city threw stones at MK Miri Regev (Likud) who was marching at the Nablus Gate and at MK Ofir Sofer, who was visiting the Muslim Quarter.
