Three and a half years ago, the current president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Manuel Moreno, was fully aware of the incredulity he generated at his rallies when he predicted a victory that no poll saw.

The tables have turned and today Moreno, the winning horse in all the polls, is proposing what seems impossible: to beat the PSOE in the province of Seville, the stronghold of the Socialists where they have won all the elections since the first democratic ones.

Moreno has shared this Sunday rally with the national president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who has opened for the Andalusian, in a hotel in Seville attended by 1,500 people, according to the organizers.

The mood of the popular, many of them displaced by buses, is completely different from that of other electoral contests.

In the atmosphere floats that imprecise joy, difficult to measure, that Moreno starts the campaign, which will begin at 00:00 on June 3, like a rocket ready to achieve his first victory in Andalusia.

In 2018, the PP achieved the worst result in its history, but with the sum of Cs and Vox it reached the presidency of the Board, surpassing the votes achieved by the leftist forces as a whole.

Moreno has set a goal for the popular Sevillians: "Win for the first time in history in Seville."

And he has added: “We can achieve it”.

No other PP candidate for the Junta had previously verbalized this objective, given the organic and institutional power of the PSOE in Seville, the heart of Andalusian socialism and the most powerful group in Spain.

A victory in the fort of the PSOE would give wings to PP: if Seville remains the first force, there would be no other impossible.

This province is the only one in Spain in which the PSOE has always won: municipal, general, European and regional.

The 18 seats that are elected by this province to the regional Parliament were distributed in 2018 as follows: 6 (PSOE), 4 (Adelante Andalucía), 3 (PP), 3 (Ciudadanos) and 2 (Vox).

In the engine room of the PP, the atmosphere of a certain euphoria that is breathed in its public acts is very worrying.

"We are doing too well," confessed a person from the campaign team who fears that this could demobilize the voter.

Both Moreno and Feijóo have given an account of that concern: “Let's not trust each other.

The polls reflect a trend.

Let us not underestimate the capacity of our adversaries.

They have a very oiled electoral machinery and their only goal is power.”

The national president of the PP also insisted on not taking anything for granted: "We need a broad mobilization of Andalusians at the polls, not in the polls."

Feijóo recalled that Andalusia is the "first stage" of the new electoral cycle in which he, as a candidate, intends to "rebuild the institutions of the State" which, in his opinion, has deteriorated the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

The previous day's statement by the leader of the PSOE in Dos Hermanas (Seville) that the PP "practices the corruption of democracy" did not go unanswered either.

Moreno has replied with the

: "Talking about corruption in Andalusia... or is he insane or well-off, has no one told him that the biggest case of corruption occurred in Andalusia?"

Both leaders have warned of a government formed by the leftist parties.

“The radical left is used to make trouble, to govern, no.

If they are not even capable of presenting the papers in order to present candidacies, how are they going to govern?

Moreno has once again alluded to the "Frankenstein government" that would involve the alliance of up to eight left-wing parties and has asked for the vote of the socialists "distanced" from the policies of Pedro Sánchez.

But if the popular leaders look to their left, they say nothing about a possible alliance with the extreme right.

Vox does not exist in the PP rallies, which are cited by allusions.

“Those who want to govern with us have not managed a single public euro in their lives,” Feijóo pointed out.

Moreno has only mentioned that the alliance policy will be decided in Andalusia.

Arrimadas claims the work of Cs in the Andalusian government

In the municipality of Mijas (Málaga), the president of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, has claimed the action of the Government in coalition of her formation with the PP at the head of the Andalusian Government.

The Cs campaign is focused on attacking Vox as a hypothetical partner of the popular ones and praising the management of the Ciudadanos team, led by its candidate and regional vice president, Juan Marín.

"In the next elections there are many parties, but only one way to guarantee that Andalusia continues to grow and advance as before," Arrimadas stressed this Sunday, together with the head of the list for Malaga, Nuria Rodríguez.

From the party they hope to attract the PSOE voter who rejects the socialism "of the Andalusian beach bar" and entrust themselves to the voters of the big cities.

In the February elections in Castilla y León, Ciudadanos only obtained the seat of Francisco Igea, but achieved a good result, in his opinion, in Valladolid, where they remained with around 7% of the percentage of the vote.

At the moment, the deputies that seem possible are those of Malaga, Cadiz and Seville.

"What has to be will be. You have to put up with it as it is," they say within Cs.
