5 male and female defendants in Mong Kok murder case will be re-arraigned in August

A middle-aged couple went to the fishing machine gambling stall on Portland Street last Friday for debt collection, but they were attacked during the attack.

The five men and women involved in the case were charged with murder and conspiracy to injure with intent. The case appeared in the Kowloon City Court today (30th). The case was adjourned because the prosecution needed time to conduct an autopsy and forensic examination. All defendants will be held without bail until August 22.

Five defendants: Yang Yongsong (37 years old), Xie Yingquan (32 years old), Lin Yingtong (20 years old), Huang Weijian (37 years old) and Yao Shoubing (33 years old).

The first four defendants are charged with the murder of man Cheung Chi Kit on May 27, 2022, on the second floor of 299 Portland Street, Mong Kok, along with other unknown persons.

The fifth defendant was charged with conspiracy to unlawfully and maliciously harm Zhang Yulan on the same day and in the same place.

Case No.: KCCC1274/2022

The incident occurred in a unit on Portland Street, Mong Kok. After the incident, the police cordoned off the scene for investigation.
