An unusual incident occurred in the Louvre in Paris: a man disguised himself as a woman in a wheelchair and threw cake at the Mona Lisa.
Videos show the bizarre scenes.
Paris - In the Louvre in Paris, an incident has occurred that raises several questions.
A visitor disguised himself as a woman with a wig and cap, sat in a wheelchair and then threw a cake at what is probably the most famous painting in the art museum - the Mona Lisa.
He crowned the bizarre attack with rose petals, which he threw on the ground at the end.
A video has been circulating on Twitter since Sunday in which an employee of the museum wipes away the last remains of the cake after the incident.
Since the picture is protected with safety glass, the action could not cause any serious damage.
With a short cleaning action, all traces of the incident in France were eliminated.
In a second video, a visitor also shows how the man disguised as a woman is taken away by the security forces after his throwing attack.
Red rose petals are scattered on the floor.

As the man himself claims in the video, the action was about setting a sign for the earth.
"Think of the earth.
There are people who destroy the earth.
All artists, think of the earth.
Think of the planet,” he calls out to the crowd of visitors, among other things.
He may therefore have had the intention of starting a protest action against environmental destruction and using the Mona Lisa as a symbol for the earth.
It remains unclear whether he really wanted to damage the painting or just attract attention with his cake attack.

What the man ultimately wanted to say with his cake attack on Mona Lisa and the scattering of rose petals is left to the interpretation of each individual, at least initially.
Especially his disguise as a woman in a wheelchair raises additional questions about the whole action.
The video went viral on Twitter within a day and has already been retweeted more than 4,000 times.
