The Trachtenverein D'Rhonbergler Parsberg celebrated its 100th anniversary on the festival Sunday.

The highlight with the church, procession and tent was successful.

Parsberg – The wind carries dull drumbeats from the Niklasreuth music band via Bergham to Miesbach, behind which some cars are jammed.

They, too, drive to the rhythm of the parade in the direction of Parsberg, shielded by a fire truck.

It is Sunday, 11.30 a.m., the highlight of the Trachtenverein anniversary.

"D'Rohnbergler Parsberg" celebrate their 100th anniversary.

The tent will also be full for the fifth day in a row - but today it's still a little fuller than usual, reveals club chairman Andreas Schöttl.

An hour earlier, Auxiliary Bishop Wolfgang Bischof had preached in the parish church of St. Laurentius about cohesion - and reminded of the motto of the Catholic Day "sharing life".

The parade follows on from that.

The streets are lined with curious Parsbergers, all in traditional costume.

Many cameras accompany the train towards the tent, the citizens wait patiently for the end of the line to join.

1500 seats: marquee fully booked

"Celebrating birthdays always costs money," Schöttl told our newspaper in advance with a wink.

He is accordingly happy with the course.

"The weather held up, that was the most important thing," says Schöttl, arriving next to the marquee at a gloomy 12 degrees but at least dry.

And: "The tent is full." It was already that way in the past few days, but the club had used an old organizer trick: "We varied the seating so that the tent always looked full." Today, Schöttl confirms , but the number of necessary benches did not have to be calculated for a long time: the 1500 seats that can fit in at most are already occupied a few minutes after the train arrives.

The fact that the 100th anniversary, postponed due to the pandemic, can only be celebrated in the 102nd year does not spoil the mood any more than the cool air.

A heater blows pleasant warmth into the tent, but the weather outside is good enough for a photo gallery.

While the club members line up there for the cameras, many children are already standing in front of the "Eberhardt".

The stand, which sells sugar snakes, gingerbread hearts and other delicacies, mixes the scent of the neighboring wheat beer carousel with that of roasted almonds.

Benches move back and forth behind the tarpaulin of the marquee.

The seating is temporarily increased while the waitresses are already lugging full mugs through the crowd.

"Everything is going as planned"

"Extremely strong", says Schöttl also the participation of the traditional costumers.

His club has around 300 members.

"Up to 70 helped with the construction," says the chairman.

Schöttl is also pleased about the number of neighboring traditional costume clubs from the district group that are present.

For example, the clubs and their chairmen came from Miesbach, Agatharied and Gotzing.

As Schöttl speaks, his phone rings several times.

"I've just handed it over to the second," he says, meaning Christoph Schwegler, second chairman of the Parsberger Trachtler.

Stressful days lie behind the two, but the worst is over now, confirms Schöttl.

The highlight with the church, procession and tent is underway, and the balance of the past four days is also positive.

After the final preparations last Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday with the beer tapping went "excellently", around 800 people were on site.

Thursday, Father's Day, attracted many dads with their families, says the chairman.

The highlight of the evening, the performance by Saso Avsenik and his Oberkrainern, was well received with around 1000 guests and everyone liked it.

The home evening on Friday with Christoph Schwegler and Florian Creator as announcers and the Saturday with a meeting of vintage cars and a meal of meatballs were just as successful.

"All kinds of vehicles came, from mopeds, cars and tractors to military vehicles," says Schöttl.

Sunday, 12.30 p.m., the chairman concludes his summary: "I just need something to drink." Then he has to go on, his support is needed all around, precisely because "everything is going as planned".
