22 people were on board the passenger plane that crashed in Nepal in the Himalayas.

Now the wreck has been discovered - two Germans are among the fatalities.

Kathmandu - A tragic accident has now happened in the Himalayas, many people have been found dead after a plane crash.

As the dpa reports, the two people are said to be a man and a woman from Hesse.

The Foreign Office had previously confirmed that two people from Germany were on board the crashed passenger plane.

Further information on the injured persons is not yet available.

They are in close contact with the Nepalese authorities and the relatives and support the relatives consularly, it said.

A total of 19 passengers and three crew members were on the plane of the Nepalese Airlines Tara Air when the plane crashed.

Air traffic control lost contact with the plane around 10 a.m. local time on Sunday.

The wreck was discovered on Monday morning.

As reported by AFP, according to the authorities, the wreck is at an altitude of 3,800 to 4,000 meters in the mountains.

Accordingly, the salvage of the fatalities should be difficult.

"The weather is very bad," official spokesman Deo Chandra Lal Karn said.

So far, only one team has reached the crash site, further flights were not possible.

The plane was en route from Pokhara - a popular tourist destination around 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu - to Jomsom.

A Boeing 737 recently crashed in China, killing all 132 people on board.

The cause of the accident continues to be a mystery.
