The general coordinator asks the PSOE for explanations for a case of alleged corruption in Valencia, while refusing to comment on the audios revealed by EL PAÍS that affect the PP

The PP of Alberto Núñez Feijóo stays in Genoa 13. With the departure of the presidency of Pablo Casado's party, the real estate operation to sell the historic central headquarters in Madrid of the popular, which the previous leader of the PP wanted to get rid of, is buried for being tainted with corruption.

The National Court considered it proven in October 2021 that the party paid in black for the millionaire reform of the building and condemned the party as subsidiary civil liability.

However, unlike Casado, Feijóo's PP definitively renounces selling the headquarters, as announced on Monday by the general coordinator of the party, Elías Bendodo.

“The buildings are not to blame for anything.

The intention is to continue here”, has defended the

number three

of the popular ones, which has also confirmed that the contract that the formation signed with a consultant to help it in the real estate operation that will now be put on hold will be terminated.

Feijóo has no problems with the popular headquarters from which Casado sought to disassociate himself as a symbolic firewall with the PP corruption cases.

"We must not continue in a building whose reform is being investigated this very week in court," said the former popular president on February 16 of last year, when he announced that the PP would leave Genoa 13.

The reality is that Casado made that move to gain internal oxygen, two days after the electoral blow that the PP suffered in the Catalan elections that year, and then he let his purpose die with the excuse that it was a very real estate operation. complicated.

The previous management maintained that he had visited alternative venues and had some candidates, but the truth is that months passed without Casado's announcement of leaving Genoa 13 materializing.

The former leader was expelled from the presidency of the PP before realizing the departure of the popular from the street of Genoa.

Now, Feijóo renounces that purpose while maintaining a discourse similar to that of Casado with the corruption cases that affect the PP.

The former popular leader even announced that he would not talk about the past corruption of the party, and he complied with it, while the current president of the PP chooses to downplay the issues that continue to reveal journalistic information.

Like the audios published by EL PAÍS, which reveal that the former general secretary of the popular María Dolores de Cospedal maneuvered to prevent the Bárcenas Papers from coming to light.

Asked about this matter, the general coordinator of the PP has dispatched the matter today alleging that they are facts "from the past, from many years ago".

"I can not contribute anything new to everything that has been said on this issue, nothing more," he has settled.

Two weeks ago, Feijóo limited himself to expressing his "respect" for the judicial investigations and tried to downplay what was published with the argument that it is an old issue.

"If you want to bring up recordings from a decade ago, everyone has the right to bring them up," he complained.

However, the general coordinator did want to expand on an alleged case of corruption that affects the Valencian PSOE and that

El Mundo has published today

.

“If they [the PSOE] want to talk about corruption, they can perfectly talk about corruption,” said Bendodo, before asking the Socialists for explanations.

"With the plots that affect the socialists, I only ask you to be as quick in asking for explanations as you are on other occasions when it comes to claiming them."

"Transparency, clarity and many explanations are needed here and how deep this case is", he insisted on the information that affects the Valencian PSOE.

“We will have, I think, a case for a while.

From the outset, [there is a lack of] explanations at the [sic] level of the Valencian Community;

We hope that the president [Ximo] Puig comes out today, it would be reasonable, to explain what this situation is.

And, later, what is the position of PSOE at the federal level throughout the day?
