The 45th Rudelzhausen folk festival will probably be remembered for a long time.

Because on Saturday the “worst case” happened: the beer was gone!

A plan B then saved the evening.

Rudelzhausen

- The Rudelzhausen folk festival has always been a magnet for visitors.

At the start on Father's Day, not only the "papas" celebrate, but an entire region.

Because the event marks the start of the folk festivals in the Hallertau, has an excellent menu and reasonable prices.

The Schlossbrauerei Au has been supplying the beer for 45 years.

Traditionally, on Father's Day, the first festival beer comes out of the wooden barrel, and then it flows from the mobile beer tank to the spout taps.

Depending on the filling quantity, the extent to which a complete refilling is necessary in the Auer brewery is weighed daily.

Thanks to decades of festival experience, balancing was never a problem.

At around 10.30 p.m. the tanks are empty

But then the mega Saturday punished lies: the people at the folk festival were thirsty.

The filling level in the tank, which was always slightly sufficient in previous years, was wiped out around 10:30 p.m.

The brew specially brewed for Rudelzhausen by brewmaster Stefan Ebensperger and Dominik Mertens, who had already caused tongue-clicking during the beer tasting, sold like hotcakes.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Reason: Saturday evening blew up all dimensions.

The 1,500-person tent was packed to the brim in no time, and the failure of the originally announced party band didn't spoil the mood.

In fact, this was even beneficial, because the Sumpfbiber from Mainburg, a brass band with six young musicians, outgrew themselves.

Old hits and evergreens with cool brass band sounds guaranteed a great evening, the visitors celebrated standing on the beer benches.

A Saturday of superlatives, a blessing after the long Corona break.

The mood and sales increased - and the beer in the tank less and less.

Spontaneous intervention team of footballers saves the evening

"The beer was too good," TSV chairman Wieland Scheer summed up the day after the onslaught on Saturday: "Something like this has never happened before." sit dry.

"That never happens to us," said Scheer, shaking his head at the historic moment in the club.

Nevertheless, his folk festival balance is extremely positive: The cohesion in the club, which runs everything from tent construction to the kitchen on its own, was unbroken even after Corona.

The little festival beer stop on Saturday evening doesn't change that.
