Summary.
On May 27, Olivier Cappelaere, a 52-year-old Riviera resident, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the poisoning of Jacqueline Imbert, a retiree whose apartment he had bought for life.
On November 2, 2014, Olivier Cappelaere poisoned his victim with atropine, a heart accelerant.
The retiree dies two days later and bequeaths all her fortune to the Azurean, who has become sole legatee in her will.
This is not the first time that Olivier Cappelaere has been sentenced by the courts.
In 2020, he had already been sentenced to 25 years in prison for attempted poisoning of Suzanne Bailly, the owner of an apartment he had also bought for life.
Louise Colcombet, journalist with the police-justice service of Le Parisien, covered the trial of Olivier Cappelaere.
For Code source, she recounts the murderous itinerary of "the poisoner to the life annuity".
