(CNN) --

Iga Swiatek could be on the verge of breaking Serena Williams' record for wins.

Swiatek, who turned 21 on Tuesday, won his first Grand Slam title two years ago at Roland Garros.

Now, riding a 32-match win streak and the longest unbeaten streak on the women's tour since Williams' 34-match win streak in 2013, she is the favorite to win this year's French Open.

But the Polish star won't let the pressure get to her.

"You don't have to think, 'Oh, this streak is getting longer. When am I going to lose? Or, I don't know, is it possible to win that many matches?'" she told the WTA Insider Podcast.

"I just don't think about it. Honestly, I think the sky is the limit and I can go even further."

"That kind of attitude of looking ahead, of not thinking about what's already happened, has helped me a lot because I also save energy by not doing that. I'm very proud of myself," she added.

It's not always easy for Swiatek, though, whose winning streak was threatened at the French Open on Monday.

Swiatek defeated Chinese teenager Zheng Qinwen in the fourth round, but not before Zheng took a set from the World No.1.

Swiatek plays a backhand against Zheng.

The 19-year-old Zheng looked like he was in for an upset victory as he claimed the first set in a tie-break before Swiatek took control and won 6-7(5) 6-0 6-2 to secure his 32nd consecutive victory.

"It wasn't easy to find solutions and other tactics and do something different, because I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong," she said.

Swiatek began to regroup in an unorthodox way, choosing to sing Dua Lipa in his head instead of focusing on the "technical side".

"It's not the first time. I'm always singing something," he revealed.

a family tradition

Sport is a tradition in Swiatek's family, as his father rowed for Poland at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

"I think we always focused on work because of him, because he had high expectations that we were going to get good grades and that we were going to have good training," he previously told CNN.

"Sometimes these expectations are not a good thing because they put pressure on a child, but in my case, I think it really helped me because I learned how to be professional."

"My sister got injured when she was 15 and stopped playing tennis, but she has a great brain and is studying very well, so I think we are both going to be successful."

Swiatek's rise comes at a time when there is no clear contender for his winning streak.

Dominant on all surfaces and winner of Wimbledon, the French Open and the Australian Open, Ashleigh Barty suddenly retired from tennis earlier this year at the age of 25.

Victory in the French capital would also make Swiatek the first woman to win six consecutive tournaments since Justine Henin in 2007-2008.

"I think the key is just to do the same thing that I was doing before. Right now, in these tournaments, I've already faced a lot of pressure. So I hope that the different kind of pressure that we have in a grand slam doesn't overwhelm me," he said. to the WTA Insider podcast.

"But I'm trying to accept that the streak is going to end one day. It's tough physically and mentally to keep doing the same job every week because we're human too."

"So I'm going to try to find a little more distance and just treat the grand slam like any other tournament and maybe enjoy what's around it a little bit more, enjoy that we have a rest day between matches because here it was quite intense and I didn't even get to see Rome. So in Paris I hope it will be different."
