The security threats to tourists in Turkey and the publication of the travel warning caused many Israelis to try to cancel the vacation, but without success • Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, MK Yevgeny Soba initiates the bill: "The goal is to allow travelers to receive a voucher For 12 months "

Following the revelation of "Israel Today:

After the security threats against Israeli tourists who are in Turkey and the publication of the travel warning by the anti-terrorism headquarters, many Israelis choose to cancel their vacation in the country. In talks with Israelis, we find quite a few difficulties in the process.

The tourism companies closed with the suppliers and undertook to purchase seats on flights, hotels and other services for the money paid to them.

On the other side is the customer who paid with the best of his money and prefers not to fly to Turkey following the warning issued by the State of Israel.

In all the tourism companies we examined, Eshet Tours, Issta, the flying carpet, holiday lines, airlines and Gulliver, all operate under the Consumer Protection Act, which means that in most cases, the customer will not get his money back.

In a conversation with Liat Milo, a customer of an airline, she says that she paid NIS 17,000 for a family vacation at a resort in Turkey, but in a conversation with the company she was informed that she is not entitled to get her full money back.

Bill: Providing credit to passengers

The tourism companies have committed to the suppliers and they can not bear the burden following the announcement by the state and on the other hand, the state has not yet approved compensation for those Israelis who choose not to fly to Turkey.

The Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, MK Yevgeny Soba (Yisrael Beiteinu), initiates the bill to grant credit to passengers for whom the National Security Council has issued a severe travel warning to their destination country: "Those who have already paid the best of their money and purchased plane tickets, really do not have the ability to exercise pure judgment that will benefit them and protect them."

He said, "The bill aims to allow them to receive a credit in the form of a voucher for the full amount for future realization for 12 months, so that they can postpone their flight or change their destination in view of the severe travel warning issued to their destination, while airlines will not be harmed." Everything - the security of the citizens of Israel will be maintained. "

At the moment as stated, the bill needs to go through a few more steps on the way to approval, if it is approved and the customers are left with no real answer.

Many Israelis are left in a situation where they are waiting for developments on the issue as their vacation is due in July-August and some hope the bill will pass and thus they can get their money back, or alternatively, the security situation will improve and enjoy a quiet and peaceful holiday in Turkey.
