Damascus - Sana

It is no longer a secret that when talking about committed trumpet art and away from the beaten and circulated, we turn to raw materials

A vocal capable of creating and presenting a variety of musical templates, which is what distinguishes the young singer Mahmoud Al-Haddad, who managed to capture the attention with his trumpet voice with his professional performance of authentic tarab songs, especially on the theaters of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The rawness of his oriental voice enabled him to prove himself by presenting a distinct and different performance every time he appeared on the stage. Al-Haddad participated in singing with many national orchestras in Damascus. His first appearance was as a “solo” singer and choral singer with the Artists Syndicate Orchestra, and then joined the Syrian National Music Ensemble. Al-Arabiya as a choral singer and then a solo singer with her, in addition to his participation with a local band.

In an interview with SANA Cultural, he said: “In the beginning, he only found committed art as an option for him, as he did not have a song of his own, but by joining the Syrian National Band led by Maestro Adnan Fathallah in 2013, which was a turning point in his artistic career, which earned him great experience and refined his performance

The lyric is to be able to provide a stable sound layer in addition to unifying his voice with the rest of the band members to come out together with a beautiful musical mass.”

Al-Haddad pointed out that Dar Al-Assad supports him, as it gives him his own evening every year, trying each time to present a “different title and identity.” Last year, he presented an evening entitled “A song from every country.” The evening was a mixture of traditional songs from a number of Arab countries.

Al-Haddad stressed that as a musically educated artist, he bears the responsibility of presenting tarab art at a high artistic level, as he always chooses Syrian songs that need new recording in order to document in a way that will be loved by successive generations, with the help of musician Tarek Skiker.

With regard to the future of committed art in light of the availability of technology for distribution and music recording, he indicated that when distinguished composers are available, they will possess the skill of presenting a melody commensurate with the artist’s vocal quality to ensure the continuation of his audience. It is related to the details of the idea’s success, as he put it.

Al-Haddad concluded his speech by saying, “He continues at a steady pace and with new projects, as he, as an artist, does not have a specific place he aspires to reach, but he seeks to spread in various places and Arab countries.”
