With the aim of supporting university youth and stimulating their ideas to create job opportunities that contribute to achieving economic development and supporting them financially, the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at Al-Baath University, in cooperation with
Branch of the Syndicate of Agricultural Engineers in Homs, a workshop entitled (Small and Micro agricultural projects as a source of livelihood).
SANA Youth met in the workshop, Dr. Muhammad Al-Masry, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the university, who stressed the importance of the workshop in generating ideas for students and graduates to establish small projects that would generate additional income for them after their graduation or during their studies, considering that students and graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture are the most capable of establishing various projects in the agricultural field.
Engineer Iman Sweid, head of the branch of the Syndicate of Agricultural Engineers in Homs, said: “The state of partnership between the Syndicate branch and the Faculty of Agriculture prompted us to work to support the emerging productive initiatives for young people to ensure the success of their small and micro agricultural projects.”
Engineer Maher Al-Kurdi, representative of the Arab Beekeepers Union in Homs, stressed the importance of the workshop, in which he presented his information and ideas to the students with the aim of establishing small projects for beehives, indicating that 3 bee colonies are offered to young people who will start their small business.
A number of students presented some of their small projects that they work on, including the student Rahaf Ali, who confirmed that in order to secure a financial return for her, she established her small project by cultivating oyster mushrooms and then making soap from medicinal and aromatic plants, considering that small projects support youth and the national economy.
Graduate Muhammad Rajoub said: “Immediately after graduating from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, I took a grant from the Arab Beekeepers Union in Homs, which included 3 beehives and worked on my small project until it developed and I had 8 hives.” He developed and formed an important financial income.
The students, Batoul Ahmed, Ibrahim Shaar, Ahmed Hussein and Al-Batoul Ibrahim, pointed out the importance of the information provided in the workshop, which contributed to motivating them to set up small projects to serve as a source of income for them.
