We are already in the second year in which the entire gaming industry suffers from a shortage of chips, and many players are still having great difficulty finding a new generation console like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, and if they did manage to get their hands on a console - the price became exorbitant.

It turns out that according to Sony's forecasts, the shortage of PlayStation 5 consoles will start to shrink towards 2024, and this will be the year when the new console will start to pick up significant momentum in sales.

Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony, held an investor meeting last week where it was revealed that although the PlayStation 5 surpassed the PlayStation 4 in sales in the first year of its launch, sales dropped in the second year and many players experienced many console difficulties due to various supply issues. Sony's are that in the third year (next year, 2023) this time it will start to shrink and already in 2024 the PlayStation 5 will balance and continue to rise

. Some of the solutions Sony is working on include importing chips from a number of manufacturers, and will start dealing directly with global distribution so that you can ensure that the goods reach the stores in the required quantities.

Some of the manufacturers in question in the same presentation presented to investors are TSMC, and a few months ago Sony announced that it would invest about 800 billion Japanese yen (about $ 7 billion) in the Taiwanese hardware maker, so that it could set up a chip factory.

Which may start operating in 2024. The plant in question is expected to start operating as early as 2024, and is not intended to manufacture and supply hardware not only for the gaming industry but also for automakers, cameras and all others affected by the shortage in the past year.
