The Russian cargo ship Astrakhan left the port of Mariupol with a cargo of minerals on board for the first time since the liberation of the city and its port.
According to RIA Novosti Agency, the ship left the port with goods produced in the Mariupol factories, noting that the ship stopped at the port for loading for two days.
The authorities are working to rehabilitate public facilities and restore water and energy supplies to gradually return the city to normal life.
On May 20, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, announced the liberation of the Azovstal plant, the last stronghold of Ukrainian extremists in Mariupol.
In another context, the President of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushilin, announced that his country now owns a commercial fleet.
In response to journalists' questions, Pushilin said that after the end of hostilities in the city of Mariupol and the survival of a number of ships on the berths of the sea port, part of it became subject to the ownership of the Republic, pointing to the importance of the port through which construction equipment and materials will pass that contribute to the reconstruction of the country.
