"An 18-year-old temporary help from a ride from the Aurich district was informed by a passenger that he had lost his glasses on a previous trip.

The temporary help wanted to pick up the glasses and entered the work area of ​​the ride while it was running, which caused her to be hit by the ride and critically injured," says a joint report from the police and the public prosecutor.

Despite immediate medical care, the young woman died in hospital a short time later.

The police and trade inspectorate completed the investigations on site and did not find any evidence of criminal misconduct by other people or technical defects.

The matjes festival has been running since last Thursday and was planned until this Sunday.
