On June 3rd, after a three-year break, the World Club Dome will start again in Frankfurt's Waldstadion.

What can fans expect at the three-day festival?

Frankfurt – This time Elvis will also be present at the World Club Dome in Frankfurt's Waldstadion.

Okay, not the real King, of course, but Elvis look-alikes will perform wedding ceremonies in specially constructed wedding chapels not far from the stadium.

"Several couples have already registered, one couple is getting married a few days beforehand and they want to have the big show at the World Club Dome and are getting married here again for fun," says Bernd Breiter on Monday afternoon (May 30) and laughs .

Of course they were all fun weddings.

The 51-year-old is the organizer of the three-day music festival in Frankfurt, to which fans travel to his hometown from all over the world to see DJ greats from the electronic music world like David Guetta, DJs from the mainstream charts like Robin Schulz, but also rappers like Haftsperre or rapper Juju live from Friday (June 3rd) to Sunday (June 5th).

Because, as Breiter emphasizes, the Big City Beats World Club Dome has long been more than a festival for electronic music, but unites different music genres - all under one roof.

Both Scooter and Haftsperre perform on the hip-hop stage – but not together.

Because the association doesn't go so far that arrest warrant remixes his "Chabos know who Babo is" with Scooter's loudspeaker yelling of "How much is the fish".

Breiter expects 60,000 visitors in Frankfurt per festival day.

250 artists are there.

Corona measures are no longer an issue, the area is spacious, security employees make sure that no more people than allowed are dancing in front of the stages.

On Monday, Breiter walks around between forklifts and stage construction and proudly shows who will be performing on the 25 stages that are being set up from the Waldstadion to the Stadionbad.

A fallen, torn-off "Las Vegas" sign can be seen in front of the zombie stage on the meadows in front of the stadium.

This is where the "Dark Side", i.e. really hard electro, is played, says Breiter.

A new district is to be created on 700,000 square meters for three days – or rather, Las Vegas is moving to Europe for three days.

The motto this time is Las Vegas.

That's why Elvis.

World Club Dome 2022 in Frankfurt: "It's been a damn long time"

Since 2019 it is the first time that things have started again after Corona.

"It's been a damn long time and it's a damn good feeling," says Breiter.

He's wearing a Louis Vuitton cloud jacket with white jeans.

"We started construction last week."

His dog Whiskey is always on the leash with him every day.

At the festival itself, however, Whiskey will be retiring to the boarding kennel with two female dogs while his owner walks 15 miles a day alone.

"2,500 people work here: from technicians to catering," says Breiter.

Up to 120 trucks deliver the technology, in which up to 1.8 million watts of sound are installed.

Magicians, magicians, showgirls and dancers should bring the show flair of Las Vegas to life.

The main stage will be in the middle of the Frankfurt stadium.

Breiter calls it "a Colosseum of modern times".

Superlatives are his thing.

The World Club Dome costs several million euros.

And because there are not enough ice cubes in Frankfurt, they produced 14 tons of ice cubes on site.

World Club Dome 2022 in Frankfurt: With the VIP ticket to the pool area

The World Club Dome has existed since 2013.

"Steve Aoki has been with us ever since," says Breiter.

44-year-old American electro DJ Aoki also performs often with Belgian DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

They are also stars of the scene and are just as much a part of it as the celebrated German producer collective Glockenbach.

The backdrops want to be placed precisely.

Sports fields are becoming helicopter landing pads, because the DJs who feel like it can, instead of quietly and secretly parking in the underground car park, land here directly with the helicopter and stand out from the crowd on the "Walk of Fame" or, how More broadly it calls the "show run of superstars" welcome.

At the pool sessions at the Stadionbad, visitors can throw on swimwear and dance to Sven Väth like they would on Ibiza.

Those who purchase VIP tickets (from 260 euros) even have their own pool area.

A single ticket for the festival costs from 96 euros;

a three-day ticket costs 156 euros.

“There is 600 meters of bar space and a street food festival and there will also be a shisha area not far from the Forest stage,” says Breiter.

And, of course, the opening night this Friday in Frankfurt will also be celebrated in a big way.

In addition, star violinist David Garrett will perform live with the HR Symphony Orchestra on the main stage.

Breiter composed the piece of music with Garrett and the singer and producer JD Wood and recorded it with the HR Symphony Orchestra last year.

World Club Dome 2022 in Frankfurt: Tim Mälzer cooks space food

The piece is called “Space Table Symphony”.

Because in the evening there will not only be dancing, but also live cooking: TV chef Tim Mälzer is preparing the space-worthy Indonesian goulash (“Rendang”), which ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer has already eaten in space.

300 guests, including Maurer, are coming to the Waldstadion for the Rendang meal in person.

At the same time, millions of people around the world can join in the cooking.

This event also marks the start of Breiter's One Billion Meals From Outer Space initiative, which aims to raise $1 billion in food donations for charities.

The 54-year-old had actually already retired, but techno never let go of him.
