24 civilians were killed and about 60 others wounded in an armed attack by separatists in southern Cameroon.
"The separatists attacked the village of Oboni al-Thani, 560 km northwest of Yaounde, near the border with Nigeria, and killed 24 people and wounded at least 62 others," a local official told AFP.
"The separatists wanted to impose royalties on the residents, but they refused, so they attacked their homes," the official added.
Since 2017, a bloody conflict has been raging between separatist groups and the army in the southern regions of Cameroon, causing hundreds of deaths.
