A 60-year-old man perished today (Wednesday) in a fire that broke out in an apartment in a residential building on Operation Sinai Street in Bat Yam.
The fire broke out on the first floor of the four-story building.
MDA staff determined his death on the spot.
"After the fire was extinguished, we entered the apartment and saw a man unconscious and with multiple burns on his body," said MDA paramedics Yosef Sasson and Kfir Versano, who arrived at the scene.
"We performed medical tests on him and saw that he had no signs of life and unfortunately, we had to determine his death on the spot."

Last month, a 70-year-old man died from smoke inhalation in a fire that broke out on the eighth floor of a residential building on Sokolov Street in Netanya.
His partner, also in her 70s, was seriously injured.
MDA staff, who were called to the scene along with the fire brigade, evacuated the man who was in critical condition while performing resuscitation operations to Laniado Hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead, and the woman who was in critical condition to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera.
