Italy is relaxing for vacationers.
The popular travel destination makes entry easier for the unvaccinated.
Rome – Italy will abolish its Corona entry rules at the end of the month.
With the expiry of the previous regulation, it will no longer be necessary to prove a corona vaccination, recovery or a negative test upon entry, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome explained on Monday.
So far, unvaccinated people have had to show a corona test (PCR max. 72 hours or antigen rapid test max. 48 hours) when entering Italy.
Those who have recovered had to provide proof of a Covid 19 infection in the last six months.
Italy abolishes corona rules upon entry
Italy was the first European country to be hit by the coronavirus in early 2020.
In the course of the pandemic, it imposed some of the strictest corona requirements.
For example, all workers at the workplace had to present a corona vaccination, recovery or a negative test.
Most of the corona measures have now been lifted as the vaccination campaign progressed.
Italy: FFP2 mask requirement remains until June 15, 2022
Proof of vaccination, recovery and tests are no longer required for public travel.
However, an FFP2 mask requirement will remain in place until June 15th.
The masks are also still needed in schools.
Wearing a surgical mask is sufficient in public interiors.
A distance of at least one meter is still required.
