Kasia Gallanio, former Princess of Qatar, has been found dead at her home in Marbella.
The circumstances of the death at the age of only 46 are unclear.
Gallanio leaves behind three children.
Marbella – A bitter legal battle over custody of their children
Kasia Gallanio (46, † 2022) brought her ex-husband, the former oil and finance minister of Qatar, to the brink of despair.
According to Spanish and French media, the police found her body in her home in Marbella, Spain.
Gallanio was 46 years old.

According to the Spanish newspaper "El Mundo", one of the underage girls had informed the Spanish authorities from France after not being able to reach her mother for four days.
The Spanish police officers then gained access to the 46-year-old's house with the help of the caretaker.
Apparently there were no signs of violence on the body.
The authorities therefore ordered an autopsy due to the young age.
Initial findings could indicate a drug overdose as the cause of death, as reported by French media, but the exact time of death and the exact circumstances are unclear.

Kasia Gallanio was born an American with Polish roots.
She was the third wife of Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani (73), the uncle of the fourth Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani (41).
Abdelaziz Al-Thani and Kasia met in Paris and are now divorced.
The 73-year-old has lived in France since resigning from office in 1992, while Kasia settled in Marbella.

Gallanio fought a bitter custody battle with her ex-husband for ten years.
Among other things, she accused him of sexually abusing her youngest daughter.
The 73-year-old had always denied this and accused his ex-wife of being an alcoholic.
It was also said that Kasia suffered from depression because of legal problems with her ex-husband.

The French judiciary had recently dismissed Gallanio's applications pending a psychological report.
The father has so far vehemently denied the allegations.
In court, he accused his former wife of being an alcoholic.
That is also the reason why she was deprived of custody of her daughters.
The girls, 17-year-old twins and a 15-year-old, live with their wealthy father in the heart of Paris.
In fact, little is known about Qatar's ex-nobility.
There are even more rumors about it.
Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani is said to have refused his twin daughters to return home after they had stayed with their mother in Spain for a few months.
He would have accommodated them "in modest hotels".
But nothing of this has been proven.
