In the program "Mario Barth reveals" Stuttgart was mocked for some projects in front of an audience of millions.

Users find it on the Internet: rightly so.

Stuttgart - The state capital Stuttgart has already earned a lot of ridicule with the increasingly expensive large-scale Stuttgart 21 project.

Not only the people in the region make fun of the never-ending construction work and the explosion in costs in Stuttgart, the billion-euro project also causes a stir and derogatory comments beyond the city and state borders.

Especially in some TV shows, Stuttgart is often made fun of.

Among other things, also in the RTL program "Mario Barth reveals", in which comedian Mario Barth talks to various guests in front of an audience of millions about wasting taxes or money in Germany and reveals them.

Now Stuttgart got its fat off again - but not because of Stuttgart 21, as

BW24

reports.

Mockery for Stuttgarter Stäffele, flight of steps, fences and wooden walls for birds

Mario Barth sent his colleague Guido Cantz to Stuttgart to present the questionable projects.

At the beginning of the article, Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) is referred to as "Gandalf the Greens", who is responsible for ensuring that people in the Swabian metropolis no longer only think about saving.

"The Swabians are no longer turning around every cent, the money is thrown out the window," says Cantz.

"They just throw the money on the street." The colorfully painted stairs in the city center are alluded to.

In order to create an incentive to exercise, the city had artists paint some of the relays for 75,000 euros.

For example, the squadron of deer adorns a giant pretzel in the mosaic style.

Various colorful motifs can be seen on Schulstraße, such as the Stuttgart heraldic animal, a black horse, a smiley face or a heart.

The Lorenz squadron wears the colors of the rainbow.

"Hopefully they don't get the stupid idea of painting the other 500 to 600 stairs full of paint here in Stuttgart, because then they'll be really broke," Guido Cantz scoffs.

Next, the planned staircase at the Wilhelmspalais in Stuttgart will be discussed.

For 1.9 million euros, this is to be built on the B14 by 2023.

"Say Stuttgart honestly, I think it hacks," says the moderator.

"Who came up with such a stupid idea to build such a shitty staircase for 1.9 million euros right here on the B14 - and then sell it as a meeting place?" Finally, the fences and wooden walls at Max-Eyth -Lake accused of protecting breeding birds as a waste of taxes.

Netz agrees: Criticism of Stuttgart projects is justified

After the criticism from Mario Barth and his team, the citizens of the Internet are in agreement - they agree with the mentioned tax squandering.

"Stuttgart can hardly be more beautiful, but could use its money more sensibly for its residents," writes a Facebook user.

"The city councilors spend unnecessary money where it is not necessary," judges a user after the show.

"It's just sad what has become of the former Swabian metropolis," writes another user.

The city of Stuttgart has also commented on the criticism of the program to the

Stuttgarter Zeitung

.

"All three projects that Mario Barth makes fun of on his show are justified," said a spokeswoman.

"Especially the Stäffele are an absolute unique selling point in Stuttgart and are particularly emphasized by the colorful design," it continues.

According to the city, the bird protection devices were even legally binding.

At the end of the article, Guido Cantz promises that this will probably not be the last time he has visited the state capital of Baden-Württemberg.
