The long wait is over: After a two-year Corona break, the countdown is on for the Fürstenfeld Garden Days 2022, which will take place from June 3rd to 6th.

Ten tips for getting used to it again.

The monastery area on the outskirts of Fürstenfeldbruck offers many opportunities to spend a wonderful day in the countryside.

Organizer Martin Lohde has ten tips ready for what is absolutely necessary.

1. Bring four hours or more to visit all the stalls outside and inside.

A lot has happened among the exhibitors due to corona and staffing.

Nevertheless, around 240 suppliers of garden products, furniture and decorations are waiting for visitors.

2. Buy plants directly from the grower and benefit from his know-how.

Even though many garden centers have now switched to online trading, visitors to the Garden Days can once again expect a sea of flowers, bushes, fruit and vegetable plants.

And if you have bought a lot, you can hand everything over to the plant wardrobe and continue to enjoy the garden day ambience in comfort.

3. Listen extensively to one of the ten concerts.

Also this year the offer is varied.

"There are many musical delicacies," says Lohde.

From school bands to the town band and Frank Sinatra works to string music, everything is on offer.

4. Buying a special gardening tool to give you renewed vigor when gardening at home.

Just as you need flowers for gardening, you also need the right tools to make the job no heavier than necessary.

"New brooms sweep well," says Martin Lohde.

And not only brooms, but also spades, watering cans or pruning shears.

5. Enjoy the shade of the impressively large chestnut tree in the Fürstenfeld beer garden with a cool pint.

In addition to the beer garden, many stalls on the monastery area provide culinary supplies on the garden days.

There, too, it has been important for years to produce as little waste as possible.

6. Get further training at one of the eleven lectures on the topic "Garden of the Future".

The spectrum ranges from edible wild plants, orchids and climate change to old garden knowledge, rediscovered.

Participation is free.

The lecture program can be found on the website www.fuerstenfelder-gartentage.de.

7. Take in the tranquility and splendor of the baroque monastery church and take part in a guided tour.

Free guided tours are offered on all four days at 4 p.m.

It also goes to the organ.

8. Have the youth fire brigade row you across the Amper Canal.

Of course, the boat trips should not be missing from the garden days: the young fire helpers offer a relaxing trip between the baroque garden and Waaghäuslwiese and also a little cooling off in warm temperatures.

The proceeds benefit the fire department.

9. Buy seeds to grow your own plants next spring.

If you are unsure about this, you can get the right tips from the local experts.

10. Have a sundowner in the bamboo bar.

This garden lounge is located on the so-called monastery meadow.

There are cocktails and freshly squeezed juices.

Martin Lohde thinks it's exactly the right place to be happy about his numerous purchases at the end of a visit.

The Garden Days

are open on Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from Saturday to Monday from 9.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Admission costs ten euros, reduced 8.50 euros and the season ticket 20 euros.
