The Los Angeles Police Department, California, reported Wednesday that a 16-year-old student was injured during a shooting near Grant High School.
Authorities said they received reports of a shooting around 3:30 pm ET.
A witness heard between three and four shots.

The LAPD reported that a 10th grader was injured in the leg, apparently after being shot at from a moving vehicle outside the school.
The suspect vehicle is an early model green Honda Accord, in which four people were traveling.
The young man was taken to Cedars Sinai hospital for medical attention, but the severity of his injuries is unknown at this time.

The school was closed by the authorities and access to enter or leave was prevented,
while the agents reviewed the facilities and ruled out possible threats.
After concluding their search, the police allowed the students to leave around 4:15 pm.

Cell phone footage captured police tending to an injured young man lying on the ground.
He seemed to be aware and communicating with the people around him.
The incident is believed to have been related to a gang fight.
