The Israel Police today (Thursday) arrested an 18-year-old Ashdod resident for questioning on suspicion of raping a minor and being involved in a shooting incident that took place last night in the city of Ashdod.
The Israeli police have opened an investigation into the rape case, following a complaint received by the police from the Lynn Center for Minority Victims of Sexual Assault, according to which a 14-year-old minor reported a rape case about a week ago by a young man she had been in contact with for months.
Police investigators, who began investigating, were able to locate the suspect in the afternoon in the center of the country and arrest him after he resisted arrest.
In addition, the suspicion arises of the suspect's involvement in the shooting incident that took place last night on Rogozin Street in Ashdod.
The suspect was arrested for questioning at the Ashdod station, on suspicion of raping the minor and the shooting incident, and tomorrow he will be brought before a court with a request to extend his detention.
