The police in Frankfurt are currently dealing with a suspected racist attack.
A young woman's hair was apparently set on fire on the street.
Frankfurt - In a suspected racist attack in Frankfurt, a young woman's hair is said to have been set on fire.
The 22-year-old was walking on a street in the Praunheim district on Tuesday afternoon (May 31) when an unknown man approached her, the police said on Wednesday (June 1).
"As they were walking past each other, she suddenly noticed a flame on the hair on her head, which was subsequently singed," it said.
And: "The crime indicates a suspected xenophobic background."
Fortunately, the woman reacted quickly and was able to prevent worse from happening, so that she sustained no further injuries, said a Frankfurt police spokesman.
"The first investigations indicated that the stranger set the woman's hair on fire in passing." In addition, the 22-year-old man is said to have called out to "leave the country" before fleeing, as reported by fnp.de .

The 22-year-old herself then alerted the police.
An immediately initiated search was unsuccessful, it said.
The Frankfurt police are investigating dangerous bodily harm and are looking for witnesses who observed what was happening on Kollwitzstrasse.
She is also looking for an approximately 50-year-old man who is said to be around 1.75 to 1.85 meters tall and have light blond or greyish hair and a wrinkled face.
According to the description, he had a Central European appearance and spoke German without an accent.
He was therefore dressed in a wide, light gray shirt and gray jogging pants and also carried a beer can with him.
