A 32-year-old man was indicted and imprisoned for the murder of his roommate in a village near Perpignan, we learned Thursday, June 2 from the prosecution.
He was taken into custody on Tuesday.

A judicial investigation for murder has been opened
," Perpignan prosecutor Jean-David Cavaillé said in a statement.
The victim, a man in his forties, had been discovered in the middle of the street by residents of Trouillas (Pyrénées-Orientales), bearing traces of stab wounds to the side and back.

Thursday, the prosecution also announced the opening of a murder investigation after the discovery of the body of a man by walkers near the village of Ille-sur-Têt, in the same department.
According to Mr. Cavaillé, the two cases "
have nothing to do
" with each other.
