The filmmaker Rabbi Uri Zohar will be laid to rest today (Thursday) at 16:00 in the Givat Shaul Cemetery in Jerusalem.
Dozens are expected to attend his funeral, after he passed away this morning at the age of 86. Zohar is considered one of the most influential figures in Israeli cinema and entertainment.
President Yitzhak Herzog paid tribute to him: "I was sorry to hear of the passing of the man of culture and Torah, Rabbi Uri Zohar," he said, "a great artist, one of the designers of Israeli cinema, who made an important contribution to the cultural and spiritual assets of the State of Israel."
The Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, also paid tribute, saying that he was "very saddened to hear of the death of Rabbi Uri Zohar. "Great in the Torah. A wise student who brought hearts together in pleasant ways."

Zohar's son, Itamar, paid tribute to his father and said: "He filled the world with understanding and spirit, I am so shocked and sad. It is a great loss. The darkness is so great and unbearable. I miss him and I am broken, I am crazy about him and he was my life, I "I lived with him. I'm terribly sad. He taught us to see the great remorse in everything you pursue so much."
