USA: Attacker shoots at least four people in hospital

An attacker stormed into a hospital in Tulsa (USA) and shot dead at least four people.

The shooter is dead, there are several injured.

At least four people were killed by an assailant in a US hospital in Tulsa.

"Right now we have four dead civilians and one dead gunman who we believe took his own life," Tulsa, Oklahoma, Deputy Chief of Police Eric Dalgleish said Wednesday.

The police had previously spoken of four dead including the shooter and "several injured".

According to Dalgleish, the attacker had stormed the clinic.

The person had a rifle and a handgun with him.

According to Dalgeish, the attack lasted about four minutes from the time the 911 call was received to when officers located the gunman.

US President Joe Biden has been briefed on the Tulsa attack, the White House said.

Just over a week ago, an attack at a Texas elementary school sparked horror.

The attack killed 19 children and two teachers.

In mid-May, an 18-year-old also shot ten people with an assault rifle in and in front of a supermarket in upstate New York.

He has now been charged with terrorism and murder.

The incidents have sparked renewed debate about tightening gun laws in the United States.

However, this has been blocked for years by Republicans and rural Democrats.
