Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) swapped his Mercedes S-Class for the group's all-electric sedan.
The head of government is impressed by the EQS.
Stuttgart - As Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, with official residence in the state capital Stuttgart, Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) naturally drives a model from Mercedes-Benz.
In February, the head of government exchanged his Mercedes S-Class for the all-electric flagship EQS.
The keys for the large sedan were personally handed over to the father of the country by Britta Seeger, Head of Sales at Mercedes-Benz, as reported

"My new company car is a very good example of sustainable mobility, 'Made in Baden-Württemberg'," said Winfried Kretschmann in February.
"As the first all-electric sedan from Mercedes-Benz, it sets standards in terms of efficiency and climate protection." Mercedes-Benz EQS: Winfried Kretschmann on his new company car - "as agile as a small car"
Winfried Kretschmann has been Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg since 2011 and is currently in his third term at the head of the state government.
During this time, however, the tall politician was not always 100% satisfied with his company car.
"I'm sitting there like a sardine in a can," said Kretschmann in 2018 in reference to the back seat of what was then his Mercedes S-Class.
But he no longer has this problem in the electric EQS.
He now has "real space" at the back, Kretschmann said on June 1, alluding to his statement at the time.
But the father of the country also seems to be impressed by the electric flagship from Mercedes-Benz.

He not only allows himself to be chauffeured in the limousine, but has also taken the wheel himself.
According to his own statement, he noticed the acceleration of the e-car with 500 hp.
"You know that an electric car has the right amount of torque," he explained.
“But the fact that the rear axle also steers inspired me.
This makes the car as agile as a small car.”
Winfried Kretschmann is not the only politician who drives a Mercedes-Benz EQS
The tradition of Swabian politicians also driving a company car from the large Swabian car manufacturer goes back a long time.
Günther Oettinger, Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg from 2005 to 2010, even accused Tübingen Mayor Boris Palmer (Greens) of "treason" because he preferred a Toyota Prius to a Mercedes-Benz model.
In addition to Winfried Kretschmann, his party colleague Annalena Baerbock, Federal Foreign Minister, now also uses a Mercedes-Benz EQS.
However, Kretschmann had announced that he would primarily use the electric sedan for journeys in the southwest and switch to the smaller Mercedes-Benz EQB for trips to Berlin.
Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), on the other hand, is chauffeured in the armored Mercedes S-Class Guard for security reasons.
