Queen Elizabeth cancels service: does she expect too much?

After the Trooping the Color Parade, Queen Elizabeth has to put a damper on the jubilee celebrations.
She will not attend the thanksgiving service in London.
London – For months, the British royal family has been preparing the big celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's 70th jubilee (96).
Countless events are held in honor of the dutiful and unwavering regent, but the celebrant can only witness a fraction of them on site.

To kick off the celebrations, Queen Elizabeth II appeared with her family at the traditional Trooping the Color Parade in London.
With a broad smile on her face, the 96-year-old watched the military parade, which not only celebrated her birthday this year, but also her 70-year reign.
Just a few hours later, the next item on the agenda, lighting the bonfire in Windsor, was on the agenda.
Already on day one, Queen Elizabeth II had a full program, which did not leave her untouched.

As the palace said in a brief statement, the monarch had "some grievances" during the parade, which is why she has had to cancel her participation in the thanksgiving service at London's St. Paul's Cathedral with "great reluctance".
The ceremony on June 3rd is another royal highlight of the Queen's Jubilee 2022 as most of the British royal family is expected to attend.
Queen Elizabeth cancels service: Harry and Meghan's royal return
The service's guest list also includes Prince Harry (37) and Meghan Markle (40), who are making their first official appearance in the service of the Crown since stepping down in spring 2020.
The meeting of the Sussexes and their British relatives is already being eagerly awaited.
Prince Andrew (62), whose abuse scandal damaged the reputation of the royals, had to cancel his participation due to a corona infection.
It is still unclear when Queen Elizabeth, who recently had to struggle with "mobility problems" again and again, will appear in front of the camera.
She is said to have canceled the famous Epsom Derby horse race on Saturday (June 4) in favor of her great-granddaughter Lilibet's birthday party.
