The citizens of Planegg are defending themselves against the construction waste recycling plant planned by the Glück gravel company.

The newly founded citizens' initiative "We are reason enough" fears the emergence of an industrial park in addition to more noise and dirt.

Planegg

- At the end of April, the entire committee for the environment, land use planning and traffic in the municipality of Planegg was not averse to the construction of a mobile rubble recycling plant south of Fürstenrieder Straße on the premises of Bernhard Glück Kies-Sand-Hartsteinsplitt GmbH - however, subject to the condition of a time limit and that you don't have to change the land use plan (we reported).

The residents of Planegger Enzianweg and Im Grund - at a distance of around 250 meters from the planned facility - are fighting back and have now launched the citizens' initiative "We are reason enough" against this project.

They fear that with a plant with a recycling capacity of 200 m³ of material there will be significantly more trucks on the streets every day, increased emissions and thus a deterioration in the quality of life and living.

"The existing asphalt mixing and gravel works, as well as the composting plant, are already causing significantly increased noise, dust and odor pollution," says Ute Bouvain, resident and co-initiator.

The composting plant in particular would stink if the weather was right.

Mayor Hermann Nafziger also confirmed this, according to Bouvain.

In addition to the distribution of information brochures and a signature campaign in the last few days, there was also a conversation with the mayor this week.

The residents are demanding an emissions report from the municipality for all Glück companies.

In their opinion, the construction waste recycling plant of the gravel company would again drastically increase the pollution caused by the plants on the site that have already been approved.

"We have nothing against recycling," initiator Wolfgang Cebulla made clear.

"Only something against the location." If you look at the development of the last decades, you will recognize with this new plant a further step in the direction of an industrial area.

However, the land use plan only shows areas for agricultural purposes.

If it is actually an industrial area with high environmental pollution, then, the residents argue, a permit in the immediate vicinity of residential development is not permitted at all.

According to Cebulla, a legal supervisory complaint has already been filed with the district office against the decision of the environmental committee.

Because the thing "with the limitation of the mobile system" appears to them as a "trick".

After all, a system can always be extended at short notice in order to continue filling the Glück gravel pits.

At the municipal council meeting on Thursday, Planegg's mayor, Hermann Nafziger, defended his decision to invite Glück's managing director, Markus Wahl, to the committee for the environment, land use planning and transport at the end of April in order to present the proposed recycling plant.

This was done in the interests of information and transparency, as some municipal councils felt overwhelmed.

"I always try to take everyone with me." He will continue to do so in the future, says Nafziger.

An information evening on the subject of the recycling plant is therefore planned for Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m. in the Kupferhaus.

The Glück company has already agreed to come and will be showing the same presentation as in the committee and will be available to answer questions from the general public.

The administration will also contact the Munich district office to find out
