This month, astronomy and space enthusiasts will be on a date with a number of important astronomical phenomena, which are the phenomenon of the brightness of the rare earth, the alignment of five planets in an arc-like path around the sun, and the appearance of the full moon for four days at the peak of its radiation as a result of its reaching its great perihelion “that is, the closest point” to the planet Earth, according to the association. Syrian astronomer.

A member of the association’s board of directors, Nabil Al-Bish, said in a statement to SANA reporter that space and astronomy lovers are on a date with the phenomenon of the brightness of the rare earth today, which is an opportunity to discover the rare phenomenon of “earth radiation” that occurs on the surface of the moon, where they can see the radiation or “brightness” of the earth with the naked eye inverted on the surface of the moon. The edge of the crescent moon.

Al-Bish pointed out that looking at the moon in the state of the crescent after sunset or shortly before its sunrise enables those interested to see the entire dark disk of the moon today and tomorrow, and not only its bright part. Astronomers brighten the Earth.

Al-Bish pointed out that this phenomenon is known as the dim lighting reflected from the surface of the Earth as a result of the sun’s rays towards the dark side of the moon, also known as “the gray glow of the moon.” From the moon facing us.

Al-Bish explained that the brightness of the Earth can only be seen with the naked eye when a very thin crescent appears at twilight and a little above twilight, and the best time to watch this phenomenon is today, Friday, right after sunset.

Al-Bish also pointed out that the month of June witnesses the alignment of five of the planets of the solar system starting today, when five planets line up in an arc-like path around the sun before dawn, and they are Mercury “needs an expert eye”, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter “with the naked eye”, indicating that the last time The five planets lined up in this way was in 2004, according to a statement issued by the American Astronomical Society.

Al-Bish added that on the 14th of this June, there will be a view of the full moon for four days, with its apparent largest size and peak radiation as a result of its arrival on this day to its greatest perihelion near the planet Earth.
