The French green electricity producer Qair Group takes over the insolvent wind power investor Green City AG.

The consequences for the project in the Ebersberg forest are part of the negotiations.

District

- Around four months ago, Green City AG's application for insolvency caused a stir in the district of Ebersberg: The renewable energy company is an investor in the five wind turbines planned in the Ebersberg Forest.

In the meantime, hardly anyone assumes that this bankruptcy, apart from delays, represents a serious obstacle to the project - too many other investors have expressed interest in the project, District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU) recently hinted.

Whether one of these gets a chance is now apparently in French hands: The Qair Group, an independent producer of renewable energies based in Montpellier, has bought up the insolvent Green City AG.

Ebersberg location not yet included: French take over “large number of project companies”

According to the announcement, a large part of the jobs at the Munich location will be retained.

However, the "Green City Windpark Ebersberger Forst GmbH & Co. KG" is currently not part of the sales mass.

"The talks are still ongoing here," said the insolvency administration at the request of the Ebersberger Zeitung from the takeover whirlwind.

The further fate of the project in the Ebersberg forest is currently in the balance.

"A large number of the approximately 150 project companies belonging to the group of companies" have been taken over by the French Qair Group, Green City reports.

Numerous prospective buyers: Green City is obviously a coveted takeover property

Apparently, the Green City is a coveted company despite the insolvency: "A significant purchase price was achieved to satisfy creditors," says insolvency administrator Axel Bierbach.

An "extraordinarily high number of prospective buyers from Germany and abroad" reported.

In the end, Qair put together the most promising offer with the best future prospects.

The insolvency administrator promises: "With the takeover of Green City AG by Qair, the economically and ecologically valuable projects for new power plants (...) can be preserved." - In view of the "major challenges in the expansion of renewable energies in Germany, an important success ' Bierbach continued.

Whether Qair will also be active in Ebersberg or whether another investor will be involved is now the subject of further negotiations.

District Administrator: The decision lies with the state forests - other partners are also conceivable

District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß is reticent on the phone.

"I can't yet assess the new partner," he says of the Qair Group.

In addition, a lot depends on the decision by the Bavarian State Forests - whether they will extend the site security contract with Green City AG, which expires at the end of June.

This may also be a reason why the project company for the Ebersberger Forest is not part of the takeover mass.

If there is a break, "then we will continue with another partner," says the district administrator.
