Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen today (Saturday) held a telephone conversation with French President Emanuel Macron. "It is impossible to remain silent or tolerate the current situation, given Israel's lack of political horizons and its waiver of its obligations under signed agreements and UN resolutions, along with the continuing Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people everywhere, as well as continued unilateral action in Jerusalem in particular "Extremism of settlers in large numbers, while praying and waving Israeli flags in his courtyards," Abu Mazen noted in what he defined as "a blatant violation of the historical status quo."

"This is in addition to the aggressive actions to expel the Palestinians from Jerusalem's neighborhoods, demolish their homes and kill children and innocents daily, along with the continuation of settlement crimes and settler terrorism. The world must take deterrent measures against Israeli actions And emphasized the importance of continuing political and economic assistance to Palestinians from EU countries.

Will Abu Mazen visit France?

Abu Mazen thanked Macron for his role as France's winner of the Palestinians' trust, and expressed hope that initiatives to create a political horizon would be presented.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that during the conversation, Macron invited Abu Mazen to visit France in the near future.

Macron also stressed that his country is committed to supporting peace and making efforts with both sides and with all international actors to stop the existing escalation and move to initiatives that will lead to the long-awaited political horizon.

In addition, the President of France reiterated his condolences and condemnation of the death of Al-Jazeera journalist Sheerin Abu Akala.

A few days ago, Abu Mazen had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in which he threatened that the leadership in Ramallah was considering making moves against Israel, including suspending its recognition and freezing relations with it.

The Fatah movement, Abu Mazen's ruling party, has criticized the PA chairman and his policies on a number of issues, including the appointment of associates to senior positions and the weakening of Fatah's popularity in Palestinian public opinion. On the ground and the non-fulfillment of promises by the White House (including the opening of the consulate in Jerusalem), arouse dissatisfaction within Fatah.

And in the movement, pressure is being exerted on Abu Mazen to change the political line with Israel.
