The Ministry of Communications and Technology announced that the branch of the Syrian Telecom Company in Lattakia is working to transform telephone networks from overhead to ground, with expansion in each of the Harf al-Masitra and Bahlouli areas in order to reduce network infringements and in response to the increasing demand for telephone services.
The ministry indicated on its official Facebook page that the branch will soon allocate 8 telephone centers in the governorate with 5,120 internet gates from a messaging service provider, 6 of which will be allocated in the governorate’s countryside, which will be allocated to 3,072 gates, namely “Al Shati, Al Fakhoora, Al Boudi, Ain Al Arous, Ain Shaqqaq and Karsana centers,” noting that the number of gates that Each center will be allocated 512 ADSL gateways.
The ministry indicated that two telephone centers will be allocated in the city with 2,048 gates: the 8th of March call center, with 1,536 gates, and the Qardaha call center, with 512 gates.
The Ministry indicated that the plan of the Lattakia Telecom Branch to supply photovoltaic access units with solar energy systems includes providing 12 access units with solar energy systems, and that it is currently working to supply 7 units to ensure the continuity of telephone services, which are “Sinjuan feeding the village of Sinjuan and units 1 and 2 feeding the southern sand area and an access unit.” The sparks feeding the village of Sharashir, the Damat unit that serves the village of Damat and Wadi Qandil, the Ruwaiseh access unit in Sanaada, which provides telephone services to the village of Basnada, and the optical access unit serving the village of Sheikh Hassan with telecommunication services.”
