Someone in Stanley is suspected of drowning.
At about 4 pm today (4th), a man was floating about 300 meters away from the Murray Building on the sea surface.
Rescue personnel rushed to the scene and the marine police rescued the man. He was unconscious and was sent to Madam Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for treatment, but the rescue was ineffective and was confirmed dead at 5:42 pm.
Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
It is reported that the man is about 50 years old and holds a Hong Kong resident identity card. He was wearing a hiking outfit and carrying a rucksack when he was rescued.
