The interventions of the participants in the 44th General Conference of the Syndicate of Engineers focused on the mechanism for regulating the practice of the information and medical engineering profession, the need to raise the value of the old-age and death benefit and increase the lending fund ceiling, in addition to extending the exemption from delay fines for union fees for the years 2020 and 2021 and supporting the union’s investment projects.
The participants in the conference, which was held today at the Cham Hotel in Damascus, also discussed the work of the syndicate's branches in the governorates during the past year and the work plan for the current year.
In a speech during the conference, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdel Latif, referred to the role and efforts of engineers in continuing the process of development, reconstruction and reconstruction and facing the challenges of the economic siege imposed on Syria, stressing the ministry’s support for everything that contributes to developing the union’s work, building the capacities of engineering cadres, developing skills and technologies, and benefiting from Experiences to develop engineering work in partnership with all national events.
In turn, a member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, head of the Central Office of Popular Organizations and Professional Syndicates, Hoda Al-Homsi, drew attention to the union's efforts to develop and organize work and support engineers in their various specializations through the retirement treasury and investments in various branches.
The head of the Union of Arab Engineers, Engineer Ahmed Samara Al-Zoubi, pointed out the necessity of relying on Arab cadres and expertise in engineering consultancy instead of foreign consultancy expertise, due to the presence of high Arab competencies in this field, while the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Engineers, Dr. Eng. They have their country. They continued to work and were present in various activities and events, noting the victory that Syria had achieved over terrorism and its ability to restore the wheel of work and production in various fields.
In his speech, the head of the Syndicate of Engineers in Syria, Dr. Ghayath Al-Qutini, referred to the role of engineers in the confrontation, making elements of resilience and participating in the reconstruction phase, stressing that the Syndicate focuses on programs of training courses and specialized scientific seminars, in addition to developing engineering work, especially consulting offices.
The opening of the conference was attended by Deputy Speaker of the People's Assembly Akram Al-Ajlani, a number of members, heads of popular organizations and professional syndicates, members of the Syndicate Council, heads and members of branch councils, and a number of engineers.
