Fatal accident in Aschaffenburg: man wants to cross the vehicle bridge on foot and is hit by VW

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car while crossing a vehicle bridge near Aschaffenburg.
Aschaffenburg – A serious traffic accident occurred early on Saturday morning (June 4th).
As reported by the police headquarters in Lower Franconia, a 32-year-old crossed the road on the west ring in Aschaffenburg around 2 a.m. for reasons that have not yet been clarified.
He apparently tried to cross the vehicle bridge spanning the crossing area.
He was hit by a VW Golf.

The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident, and any help came too late for him.
A called emergency doctor could only determine the death of the 32-year-old.
The 45-year-old driver suffered minor injuries in the accident.

The accident investigations are carried out by the Aschaffenburg Police Inspectorate.
By order of the public prosecutor's office, an expert was called in to clarify the course of the accident.
The VW Golf was seized to reconstruct what happened.
The roadway was closed for the duration of the accident investigation and the clean-up work until around 5:15 a.m.
The Aschaffenburg fire brigade was involved in support of the operation.
