A 10-year-old boy riding an electric scooter was killed tonight (Monday) after he was hit by a vehicle on Rishon Lezion Street in Petah Tikva.
Medical teams evacuated him in critical condition to Beilinson Hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead.
MDA paramedic Elad Polak said that "the child was lying on the side of the road near the sidewalk, unconscious and suffering from a very severe multi-system injury.
"We immediately started medical treatment, put him in an intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital while performing resuscitation operations when his condition was critical."

1,268 scooter and electric bike riders and 96 pedestrians.
This is the number of people injured in accidents involving these tools last year, according to data from the Green Light Association - a jump of tens of percent from a year earlier.
The immediate blame falls on the riders, who often drive wildly and see traffic laws as a recommendation.
However, even the obedient among them are faced with a difficult choice between two options, each worse than the other: putting themselves in danger - or endangering others.
If they choose to drive on the road, amidst the plethora of cars that overtake, beep and generally see them planted as a stranger and a nuisance on the track, they could become part of the dismal statistics of accident victims.
If they prefer to absorb a possible fine and get on the sidewalk, even extreme caution may not prevent them from hitting pedestrians.
The bike path seems to be the obvious solution to the problem, but this is not always the case.
Beyond the fact that many of the streets do not have such a path, even where a designated lane has been paved it may be too narrow for the number of passers-by or adjacent to parked vehicles, which can not be expected when they will open the door.
