The month of June is often synonymous with exams and stress for middle and high school students and students.

In order to support them as best as possible, the hours of the Thiais media library have been extended and several workshops are offered by the town's Youth Information Point.

Management of pressure and emotions, sophrology and exercises to develop one's eloquence, the approaches are varied to prepare for the best.

All workshops are free, available upon registration.

"The objective is to stand out from the classic revisions", explains Clarisse Christmann, youth project officer at the PIJ.

This global support “Objective revisions” therefore seeks to restore confidence in young people as deadlines approach, such as the philosophy test on June 15 or the Grand Oral on June 20.

The latter will be the subject of a dedicated workshop on Friday June 10 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a young eloquence specialist.

Celebrating self-confidence

This Wednesday, Cloé Guigui from Lumen Coaching is hosting a stress management workshop that brings together four young middle and high school students.

In a room of the media library, they sit in a circle and share their feelings: the stress of exams or the passage to the next level, the fatigue that accumulates, the pressure of orientation... This open discussion is punctuated with advice, always in a certain "cool attitude" valued by Cloé.

Thiais, Wednesday June 1, 2022. Young people discuss with Cloé Guigui, specialist in managing emotions.

The workshop continues with breathing exercises to evacuate anxieties.

Standing, feet anchored to the ground and arms along the body, participants apply the EFT technique (Editor’s note: for Emotional Freedom Technique).

By stimulating key areas of the body such as the wrists or the neck, they are more soothed and relaxed.

"I'm calmer," Kateleen replies when Chloe asks her how she's feeling.

“I found it interesting to know how to manage stress before an oral, for example,” confides the high school student who had already attended a PIJ workshop devoted to the Parcoursup platform.

"I tell myself that they leave with something extra and I'm happy to see them feeling better," says Cloé Guigui.

A time for listening and discussion on June 22 and July 6 at the Grignon municipal space from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. will conclude this month of supervision.

"It will allow young people to unload after their exams," adds Clarisse.

Other municipalities are committed to this process.

At Rungis, preparation workshops for the Baccalaureate exam will be organized on June 8 and 18 on registration in the Robert-Doisneau room.

The Bonneuil-sur-Marne media library also offers individual support for oral practice every Wednesday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., upon registration.

Preparation workshops for literature and philosophy tests are organized at the Bonneuil-sur-Marne library.

In Maisons-Alfort, volunteer students are mobilized to help middle and high school students with their revisions.
