The activities of the monthly family shopping festival Made in Syria in its 137th session opened on the sea corniche of Banias city in Tartous governorate with the participation of 100 different industrial companies.

In a statement to SANA reporter, a member of the board of directors of the Damascus and Rural Chamber of Industry and the head of the festival’s organizing committee, Talal Qala Ji, explained that the festival includes 100 companies who represent the pride of the Syrian industry, stressing that the main objective of it is the positive intervention of the participating companies and offering products to citizens with discounts ranging from 20 to 30 percent.

In turn, the official of the festival’s organizing team, Mohamed Omar, drew attention to the importance of the festival, in which the number of participants increases with each session, as it is a real opportunity for communication between the producer and the consumer directly.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mazen Hammad confirmed that the festival is an embodiment of cooperation between the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside and the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noting that the annual opening of the festival is evidence of the national factories’ ability to rise despite all the conditions of war and economic siege and that the Syrian product has entered Competition and soon will compete with all industries of neighboring countries.

Director of the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muhammad al-Aji, pointed out that the festival aims to support the citizen by providing products from the producer to the consumer directly, and this serves the citizen in light of the high prices of materials.

Director of the Syrian Trade Establishment Mahmoud Saqr indicated that the establishment’s pavilion includes a wide variety of different commodities from detergents, grains, tissues, jams, conserves and other materials, which it offers at competitive prices that are 20 and 25 percent lower than the markets.

Adel Qutaish, a participant in the festival for the first time in the city of Baniyas, indicated that he participates with foodstuffs such as olive oil, grape molasses, pomegranate, apples, all kinds of vinegar, rose water and others, explaining that he sells his products during the festival at discounts of 40 to 50 percent, and there is a good demand from visitors to the exhibition on his products.

As for the industrialist, Bilal Berri, who is participating for the first time in the city of Baniyas, he indicated that he participates with foodstuffs such as sweets and flowers, in addition to cosmetics, explaining that he offers discounts ranging from 20 to 50 percent, pointing out that the purpose of his participation in the festival is to introduce his products and encourage competition among the participants.

For their part, the visitors of the festival expressed their happiness with the return of the festival to the city of Baniyas, especially as it includes a wide variety of foodstuffs, clothes, accessories, detergents and others, pointing out that they sensed the price difference between the festival and the markets, as most of the materials are from the producer to the consumer directly, stressing that they came to take advantage of the offers and discounts offered by companies. Which eases the burden on them by buying directly from them.

The opening of the festival was attended by the Governor of Tartous Safwan Abu Saadi, the President of Baniyas City Council, Eng. Bashar Hamza, as well as official and popular events and a crowd of citizens.
